RÛTE

Privacy Policy

Effective

RÛTE is operated by True Anchor LLC, Michigan, United States. This policy covers Planner, Web Drive and the Android Drive app, including its Android Auto connection. Questions or privacy requests: connect@trueanchor.us.

Information you provide

You can plan without an account. The information you enter may include trip and stop names, addresses, exact coordinates, entrance pins, saved places, recent destinations, vehicle or trailer measurements, and checklist items. Avoid entering information you do not want included in a saved trip or export.

Optional accounts use Google sign-in or email and password through Google Firebase. Firebase processes authentication information; the Planner uses your account identifier, email address and, when available, display name. Passwords are not included in your trip or place records.

Device storage and account storage

The Planner uses browser storage for device-saved trips and checklists, saved and recent places, vehicle setups, and account-related cached or pending edits. These copies are stored in that browser; another device may not have them. People with access to your browser may be able to view them.

When you choose an account save, trip details, the assigned checklist and any included vehicle setup snapshot are stored in Firebase. Later edits to that account-saved trip may synchronize automatically. Signed-in Saved places are synchronized with your account, including their coordinates, entrance pins and Home or favorite labels. Account vehicle setups and reusable checklist templates synchronize when you choose the account library. Browser-only setups and templates, and recent destinations, stay on that browser. Previously requested account saves may retry when the same account reconnects. Signing out does not delete device or account data.

Membership and payments

Everyday Daily Drive does not require payment details. If you choose the no-card RÛTE Plus trial, we record its eligibility, start and end dates against your account. Starting this trial does not automatically create a paid subscription.

Paid Plus checkout and subscription management use Stripe-hosted pages. Stripe processes the payment and contact information you provide there. RÛTE does not store your full card number. We keep account-linked Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, membership status, and trial or paid-access dates to provide access, manage billing and support you. Stripe sends subscription and payment updates to our server so membership access reflects your subscription.

You can manage or cancel a paid subscription through the billing portal. Cancellation and account-data deletion are separate requests. Billing records may be retained for accounting, fraud prevention or legal requirements, including after subscription cancellation. See the privacy-request options below and Stripe’s Privacy Policy.

Maps, search and technical information

Mapbox provides maps, location search and route calculations. It receives relevant search text, requested map areas, route-stop coordinates and supplied vehicle height, width and actual loaded weight for route calculations. A printed map can also require a Mapbox map-image request. Planner does not currently access your device’s GPS location. Web Drive, available on the same website, requests location permission to follow your position and calculate routes. Its routing and map requests can include your current coordinates.

When you choose Load route weather or Check current alerts, sampled coordinates from the selected route are sent directly to the US National Weather Service (NWS). The request does not include your account identifier, checklist, trip name or complete route. NWS also receives normal connection information such as your IP address. The website keeps the resulting weather briefing and alert review in memory for the open plan; it is not added to saved trips, account records or exports. Browser and provider HTTP caches may retain forecast responses according to their cache settings. Alert checks request fresh responses without browser caching and do not enable background notifications.

Vercel hosts the website. Hosting, authentication and mapping providers may process IP addresses, browser/device details, request information and operational logs to deliver, secure and maintain their services. The website includes Vercel Analytics on rute.life and www.rute.life. Its configured filter permits page views for Planner, Web Drive and About, removes query strings and fragments from the page URL, and drops other event types. The website does not currently enable advertising. Provider services may still process technical usage information under their policies.

Android Drive and Android Auto

In Android Build 124 and later, open Navigation → Settings → Privacy & data to return to this information while parked.

Location and guidance. With precise location permission, Android Drive uses your position to follow the map, search nearby, calculate routes and provide guidance. Location use can begin while the app is open before you press Start. Active navigation can continue through a foreground location service when you switch apps or use Android Auto. The phone and car display share the navigation session.

End navigation when you finish a trip. Ending guidance does not disable location while an open map still needs it. You can change RÛTE’s location permission in Android Settings; denying it limits location-based features.

Mapping and searches. Mapbox receives map and download-area requests, search text and location bias, selected destination coordinates, and route requests that can include your current position, remaining stops and supplied vehicle measurements. Searches along a route can include route geometry. These requests also include connection information such as your IP address and service/session identifiers. They are needed to provide the features you request.

Mapbox telemetry. Mapbox’s mobile software also collects location and usage telemetry under its policies. On the phone map, open the information (i) control beside Mapbox while parked to review attribution and telemetry choices. This choice is separate from the map, search and route requests needed to use those services. See Mapbox’s telemetry explanation and its privacy policy below.

Weather and external reviews. Requested local or ahead-of-route weather and alert checks send sampled coordinates to the US National Weather Service. Opening the forest-road review uses the website and USDA service described below. Opening external websites also makes information available to your browser and those sites.

What Android keeps on your phone

The app can keep guest saved places and entrance coordinates, imported trips, vehicle setups, recent search text, checklists, navigation preferences and downloaded map/routing data. It also keeps an interrupted-trip reference for supported saved plans. This reminder identifies the saved plan and driving day; it does not restore a live navigation session.

Signing in uses Firebase Authentication. Account trips and libraries are retrieved through Firestore, and supported place and vehicle changes synchronize with your account. Vehicle setup copies, pending changes and conflict-recovery copies can remain on the phone after you sign out. Signing out is not a request to erase local or cloud information.

Use the app’s available removal controls for individual saved items or downloads. Android’s Clear storage control removes local app data but not your cloud account, exported files, or copies already held elsewhere. Review pending saves before clearing storage. In Android Build 124 and later, RÛTE’s backup rules allow only guidance voice on/off and volume preferences in Android cloud backup and Android phone-to-phone transfer. Trips, places, account sign-in data, pending account edits and downloaded maps are not included by these rules. Save eligible content to your account or use available export tools before resetting or replacing a phone. Earlier builds, previously created backups and device-specific transfer tools may behave differently; this update does not erase older backups.

For cloud account removal, follow the account-deletion instructions. Android’s Account & Planner trips also offers Request account deletion. Copying a request template does not send it or delete data. Support verifies ownership before processing the request.

How information is used and shared

We use information to provide planning, account access, saves, synchronization and support, and to maintain security and resolve problems. We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We use service providers for the functions above and may disclose information when legally required or necessary to address fraud, abuse or security threats. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations used by those providers.

Your choices and retention

You can edit or remove supported saved items in the Planner and clear browser site data to remove device copies. Removing a Saved place does not remove pins already copied into trips. Clearing browser data does not delete account information. Exports and printed copies remain wherever you save or share them.

Contact connect@trueanchor.us to request access, correction, deletion or an account closure. We may need to verify the request. You can prepare an account-deletion request without signing in. Support verifies and processes requests; opening an email draft does not submit a request or delete the account. Available rights depend on applicable law. Account information is retained to provide account features until removed or a deletion request is processed; provider logs, backups and legally required records may have different retention periods. We use reasonable safeguards, but cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

RÛTE is not intended for children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information.

Provider policies

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service develops. We will publish the current version here with its effective date.

Forest road review

When you search the forest-road tool, your selected forest and road number are sent directly to the USDA Forest Service map service. Your IP address is part of that connection. The tool does not request GPS or account details and does not save search results for offline use.

Community road-report pilot

Invited signed-in accounts can submit a road name, selected coordinates, category, observation time and optional note. Submissions are stored with the account ID and are visible to the author and authorized moderators. After review, the observation fields may be shared with invited pilot users; the shared record excludes the account ID. Publication does not verify the observation. Avoid including personal information in report text.

Flags include the flagging account ID and reason and are visible to the flagger and moderators. Observations stop appearing in the shared review after 30 days; expiry is not automatic database deletion. You can delete your own submission and shared report through My submissions. Associated moderation flags, rate-limit records, provider logs and backups may remain until support processes removal or retention cleanup. Contact connect@trueanchor.us for flag removal or account-data deletion. No photos or background location tracking are used by this tool.
